Guitar House Workshop is proud to be the birth place of Home Grown Banjo Book which can be purchased at the shop or online (below). The Home Grown Banjo Book is 71 pages of Bluegrass Inspired Fun. Sprouted from Gary Puckett’s years of cultivating the joy of banjo in his students, the project has grown to be a mixed media collection of wonderful banjo tab, accompanying chord progressions, drawings, paintings, tune origin stories and even a few recipes for community gatherings. Beautifully illustrated, easy to use with quality heavy weight stock and sturdy spiral binding, this solo tab book will become a much loved addition to any banjo player’s library. Centered around traditional tunes played at Gary’s popular “Turtle Jam Classes” , the book offers beginner, intermediate and a few truly challenging solos for the banjo jammer.

The Home Grown Banjo Book features the pavilion and garden here at the shop, where Gary teaches. More than just a source of great tab, the Home Grown Banjo Book is an invitation to join the tradition of making music in community. This eclectic collaboration was funded in part by the Greater Columbus Arts Council through the individual artist grant program.

Although Guitar House Workshop has always carried banjos, in the Spring of 2024, we decided to provide a wider selection to banjo lovers in Central Ohio. If you are looking for a banjo, we’d love to help you find the one that fits your playing style and your budget. We proudly carry Pisgah, Deering and Gold Tone instruments and can special order if the model you have in mind is not in stock.

Guitar House Workshop offers a changing inventory of new and used instruments for sale. We also occasionally consign and purchase quality fretted instruments. While we do our best to keep this site up-to-date, instruments arrive (and go home) daily. Stop in any day and see what's new at the shop!
